Read this Now: Fire in the Heart by Deepak Chopra

In September 2015, I discovered this incredible book called Fire In the Heart by: Deepak Chopra. For many years it has been sitting on my bookshelf and for some reason, up until recently, I didn’t think much of it. Probably, because for many years, I was very focused on my book addictions such as, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and Twilight.
In all seriousness though, I have been a big fan of every and all self help book in existence; so it was surprising to me that I hadn’t yet covered this one.
Fire In the Heart is my number one ‘must read’ for everyone. Yes it does say a “spiritual guide for teens” on the cover, but please, in this case, don’t judge a book by its cover. I haven’t been a teen for 5 years and this still spoke to me, along with many other people that I have forced to read it (haha).
FYI, as a little disclosure, I do work part-time at a book store, so when I say forced…I clearly mean recommended…I like to be a little dramatic from time to time. Mom don’t comment.
The book begins with a boy (young deepak) on his way to school when he is stopped by a wise old man, whom the boy calls Baba. Baba tells the boy that he has much to teach him about the secrets of life, and so the boy is intrigued. To give you a glimpse into this beautiful story, here is a direct quote that will hopefully intrigue you to read more:
* “Energy vibrates everywhere in the universe.” Baba said. “But it springs from the void, which is empty and still. You won’t know whats real until we go there. Shall we?”  He let the sand sift through his fingers, and for a moment it was like watching someone letting the whole world sift through his fingers, the world I thought I lived in.
“This is very strange” I murmured.
“Ah, so the old ways are not looking quite so certain,” he said sounding pleased. “What will be left when everything solid vanishes before your eyes?”
“Nothing” I said.
“Nothing!” he repeated. “That’s exactly right. But when were through, nothing will turn into everything-your soul and an infinite world for you to possess. Shall we?” He asked again.
“Absolutely,” I said. *
If you haven’t yet been captivated by Deepak’s elegant way of writing, then hopefully you were at least intrigued by the conversation and how you can hold the world in your hands. Sounds silly, but if you take my advice and read this book, you will learn about how true that can be.
This book changed my life. I hope it has the same impact on you guys.
Lots of love,
Melissa ♡
