My Goal Ring!

Today’s blog is focused on helping you “Love Your Mind”. The mind can be very forgetful, and so if we plan ahead (write in an agenda or create an object to help you remember), then you may find yourself loving your mind more, and essentially loving yourself more. Today I am going to tell you about this object that I created called, “The Goal Ring”.
The Goal Ring was created to help me remember my goals so that I didn’t fall off track.  I came up with this idea about 5 years ago now when I went on a girls trip to NYC. I was in a very good place in my life and I wanted to find a souvenir that could help me remember my goals and stay on track.
At the time, I was slowly becoming the jewelry addict that I am today. I had a very glamorous friend who had an impeccable fashion sense and her knowledge of jewelry brands always inspired me. She educated me about the brand David Yurman and how she had heard that China town had close replicas. So when we adventured out to China Town, I couldn’t help myself.
Another thing you should know, is that at this point in my life, I wasn’t working a lot because I was still in school. I didn’t exactly have much money to spend on this trip, so discovering a ten-dollar ring that looked like a thousand dollar ring…made me feel like I had found gold.
Looking at it, I felt instantly inspired to become the girl who could afford the real version of this ring. I felt truly glamorous for once in a long time and looking at it, reminded me of the life I wanted for myself. So I then came up with the idea that it would be my Goal Ring and every time I looked at it, I would be reminded to think of my goals and the life I truly wanted.

The first picture at the beginning of this blog is of my original goal ring in this story. The jewel fell out of the ring about three years ago and it of course didn’t make me feel the same haha. I’ve had two other goal rings since then and the second picture (right above) is of my most recent Goal Rings.
This picture (below) is from my second last trip to NYC when I went searching for a new Goal ring. As a side note, the girl who likes cats in this pic (haha) is the creator of the instagram account “@Tangnation“. Her posts are hilarious so you guys should definitely check her out.

Sometimes, in a world where it is the social norm to complain, we can forget to speak about positive topics like our goals; so finding something that can hold as a reminder to you, can really help you stay on track. It doesn’t have to be a ring, that’s just what I use because I’m a jewelry fanatic. You could have a goal hat, a goal bracelet, if you own a Fitbit, you could use that as your goal bracelet; as that is already motivating you to stay fit. Whatever works for you, do it. Let yourself get creative and make it fun.
Creating a reminder to do something that will positively impact you, is a great way to help you fall in love with your mind and a great way to build your self-esteem.
I hope this blog inspires you to create your own goal ring and as always, I’m sending you all so much love!
Melissa ♡
