Seek Out Challenges!
Pushing yourself to learn and seek out challenges, is one of the best ways that you can show your mind some love. The mind likes moving forward (well technically the ego does) and when we learn and grow, our minds are given a sense of peace. I’m assuming that this is where the expression “peace of mind” has came from. This then leads us to a place of self love and appreciation and that is exactly where we want to be. 😛
What are some ways we can challenge ourselves?
1) We can challenge ourselves to overcome internal problems, like being healthy for instance. In a sugar-obsessed world, it can be very hard to eat nutritious foods and stay healthy, so making a plan to eat better can be a small challenge that you can start with. At the moment I’m challenging my fitness, by running a 10k. Once upon a time I took part in a half-marathon in Prague and I didn’t exactly train properly. I only ran about half of it and I always wished I had done better. In May, I will be running the Sporting life 10k amongst some of my closest friends and up until then, I will be training every other day. This is a fun challenge that I decided to take on to make sure that my body stays healthy and active. This time, I am training properly. Boy will I my mind be happy when I finish that 10k.

2) We can challenge ourselves to read books that will help us improve ourselves. At Chapters (my local bookstore), I’m known as the ‘Self-help’ girl as I have read so many books from that section. Had I not pushed myself to read all of those books, I may not be in a place where I feel like I can now share my knowledge and help others. But of course, the day that we should stop learning, is the day that we die. So I will continue to read all the self-help books that I can because everything in life is an opportunity to learn something new…if we are open enough to listen.
3) We can challenge ourselves to learn a new hobby such as knitting, cooking or even a new language. All of these things are small challenges that will boost your confidence when you overcome them! Sometimes a bunch of small successes can really help someone move forward.
The goal isn’t to be perfect and overcome everything. Some things take time. But the key point is to seek out some things that challenge you or that your afraid of trying and to do your best to overcome them. Your soul will know when you’ve given something your all and that is when you will find some peace of mind and you will appreciate your efforts.
PLUS…a lot of people spend hours complaining and never doing anything to better themselves, so knowing that alone should give your mind a small bit of peace and love.
